No Dice

Well we didn't get the short-sale that we offered on, now it's back to the drawing board. There are a few other houses we like and are considering putting an offer in on but we are pretty down about losing the townhouse.

Offer

So Saturday morning we went in a put out an offer for the short-sale townhouse, now its a waiting game to see if our offer is as good if not better than the other one out there. If our offer does go through money might be a bit tight for a bit. We don't make a lot but we are smart with money and do a lot to save some money. We don't have much debt at the moment so most of our free money from month to month goes right in to saving for a rainy day, oh yeah, and our wedding.

New Developments

Turns out someone else is also putting an offer in on the short-sale town home. Darn! This is a worst case scenario for us, we are not capable of a bidding war at this juncture in our life. Nothing to do but hope and stay positive.

Short-Sales

I recently stated that the house we are currently interested in is a short-sale. Because we don't make a lot of money most of the houses we look at have been ether short-sales and foreclosures.

Foreclosures are usually, for lack of a better word, interesting. Most of the Foreclosures we have seen are trashed on the inside and need much more than just cosmetic work. Ashley and I can usually see past the small details, we just not sure the inspectors can in order to get a low interest rate loan.

Recently we quit looking at a lot of short-sales because of the time line involved with negotiating with the bank. "But Kyle, I thought that the house you are looking to offer on is a short-sale?" you may ask. Yes you are correct it is, but the bank is small and seems to be very motivated to sell, good news for us.

Hello!

Hello!

We are Ashley and Kyle. We have been dating for 7 years with hopes of getting married within the next 2 years, follow our budding lives through this blog. Currently we are looking at buying a new house and moving out of our ever increasing cramped one bedroom apartment in North Lincoln. Recently a two bedroom Townhouse with partially finished basement has peaked our interest, however it comes with a catch, much like everything else in our low price range.... Its a short-sale. This means that must hastily reach a decision in order to close before the first time home buyers credit expires, or an even bigger fear, this under priced house is snatched out from under our hands. The next few days could be exciting, and very very scary.
